Introduction:
High side current sense amplifier. Bi-direction. Attaches directly to Deltec MKA shunt or similar. Amplifies shunt voltage by 20 times and adds a 2.5 volt offset. Also provides a voltage sense wire. All wires are fused with 0.125 amp fuses. Amplifier comes standard with 5 foot shielded 24 AWG 300V wire. Can be ordered with no wire or custom length wire. Conformal coating is available as an option. Shunt not included — see accessories below.
Wire color codes and functions:
- Red: +5 volts
- White: Volt sense (connected to + on shunt)
- Green: Current sense
- Black: Ground
Transfer Function:
There are two parameters you need to calculate the transfer function between voltage output of current sense amplifier and current flowing through the shunt:- vdrop or rated voltage drop across shunt.
- irated or rated current of the shunt.
b = m * -2.5
b = 50 * -2.5 = -125
i = 50 * 3.75 + -125 = 62.5 amps
